Walnut Plant Pot Stands

This project was completed over the course of about 2 years. The initial concept to build plant pot stands was a short back and forth over instagram with an old school friend about what kind of product we could produce and sell. I looked at what was currently in the market and wanted to make my product stand out from the rest. I settled on this geometric shape that is pieced together from 9 identical posts, that joinery is then cut into. The piece are all held together by dado joints and interlocking half lap joints. The challenge of the joints is that they are not perpendicular, each cut was done meticulously by hand. Thanks Daniel Alexander :) I then designed and cut custom boxes on a large scale laser cutter. I wanted the boxes to reflect the geometry of the plant stand. This project was also the first piece I produced that was shown at a Market here in Calgary (Market Collective). So much help along the way, thank you to everyone who was involved.
